The Tides & Tales team are delighted to announce that we are hosting a maritime heritage training course commencing in the Waterford harbour area in February in partnership with WWETB Adult & Community Education.

Information sessions

It’s something we have been working on for many months now, and in an effort to give people as much information about the course, guage interest and take feedback we will host two information sessions in Dunmore and Duncannon towards the end of January. These will be held in

Dunmore East RNLI 11am on Tuesday 27th Jan
South West Wexford FRC, Ramsgrange at 11am on Thursday 29th Jan

Details

It might be of relevance to adults, men or women, with an interest and knowledge of the rivers, maritime or fishing heritage, writing, music, photography, traditions, folklore or just an open mind and willingness to explore with others the heritage of our communities. It’s a free course, will run for one session per week for up to 10 weeks and a max of 14 participants.

Update

The programme commenced at Passage Community Hall on Wednesday, 11th February 2026. It’s a morning session. Depending on the feedback and funding opportunities, we may be in a position to run a similar course again. So if you are interested, please get in touch through the contact section and we can add your name to a list.
