Steady as she goes podcast

We are delighted to hear that the Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre have created a new podcast series and the first episode has just dropped. Hosted by Captain Sean Boyce, the programme will profile much of the work of the centre, which was founded in October 2012.  As Sean points out, the programme will feature much of the books, paintings and exhibitions of the centre. But it will also feature topical news, including a round up of maritime and fishing news from around the country. Its nice to hear Sean also reference Fishguard and Milford too, indicating the close connections and the reality of the sea – so often we are closer to those beside the sea, no matter how far that may be, even a different country.

Podcast host, Capt Sean Boyce, seen here with author Terry Conlon in Wexford recently, where Sean launched Terry’s lifelong work titled Irish Merchant Ships and Shipowners.

Rosslare Harbour Maritime Heritage Centre’s new podcast is called “Steady As She Goes”
And can be accessed here from Spotify or here for Apple Podcasts.

While I found this to be interesting it is, unfortunately, a name clash. My good friend John Molloy, a family well known in Waterford, wrote about life as an Apprentice in ISL published in 2005. John has now passed on so it is up to me I guess to make note of this.

My other point, as a matter of interest, what uniform is Captain Bryce wearing ?

Finally Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, which shall be my 90th.

Many happy returns Peter, I will double check where Sean works at present, and although a familar nautical term I also thought of John Molloy when I read it, but it brought up pleasent recollections to me of a fine book. I will email you further details. A
